Today, we're going into the Let's Love Teeline Together archives to revisit an exam we posted on YouTube at the end of March 2022 entitled "Browsing in a Secondhand Bookshop." Specifically, we're going to revisit 25 word groupings. And we'll do so in less than four and a half minutes! As Jo has always said to students: "the (word) groups are the KEY to the speed." This is a statement she stands by today; four words written together means you are writing nearly four times faster.

Needless to say, while the word groupings presented are key to the exam, they are, of course, portable. Once learned, you will find uses for them in almost all the daily writing you do. Do not discount, rather, embrace them.

In their book Advanced Teeline, authors James and I.C. Hill, write:

"The simple principles of word grouping will already be familiar to the Teeline student. 'Word groupings' can be treated as arbitrary phrase-abbreviations to be memorised by rote, but they are much more than that, and the advanced writer, after studying the principles of word grouping should create his or her own. Word group learning and word group creating cannot be done whilst the writer is writing at speed. Word grouping are generally produced from memory, not worked out under stress. The potential high-speed writer should spend time re-reading speed notes and re-writing suitable groups in word grouping form. These should then be practised until the response to hearing a particular phase is immediate and sure."

We have highlighted below how the word groupings discussed fit into the Browsing in Secondhand Bookshops:
